The Newport Aquatic Center is a non-profit, private organization dedicated to giving people from all walks of life the opportunity to enjoy the sports of rowing, outrigger and kayaking.

The NAC is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors, run by an Executive Director and staff, and supported by memberships, user fees, and donations. All donations are tax deductible and go directly to our programs.

NAC Dragon Boat

The NAC Dragon Boat Team was the first dragon boat team in Orange County and has been going strong since 2003. We welcome men and women of all ages, abilities and backgrounds who love being part of a team, working out and having fun.

NAC WOW

The NAC currently offers a women’s competitive and recreational rowing program. The Women on Water (WOW) are made up of women of all ages and experience.  WOW was formed in 2000 by a group of mothers whose sons and daughters were rowing for the NAC Junior Team.  Inspired by the medal-winning Juniors, they banded together to start their own rowing Program at The Newport Aquatic Center.  Since that time, the group has grown and expanded into a competitive Masters team more than 35 strong.

NAC Junior Outrigger

The Junior Outrigger Program is a competitive youth development program serving high-school-age boys and girls throughout Orange County. The goal of the Junior Outrigger Program is to build character through competition. Teamwork, sportsmanship, positive self-concept and sense of accomplishment are emphasized. This is accomplished through comprehensive training that develops aerobic fitness, overall strength, flexibility, and technical proficiency in sport of paddling.
