Absences: Communication for absences must be between the athletes and the coaches. We are happy to talk to the parents as well, but we must get communication from the athlete. We require 90% attendance to be eligible to race. DO NOT come to practice if you cannot row. Since we are on the water, there is no “bench” to sit on if you don’t feel well enough to work out. If you are sick and cannot make practice please contact your Coaches before 2PM.
Forms Due: Program enrollment, Terms & Conditions & Liability Wavier, Authorization & Consent for Medical Treatment most be turned in the first day of practice.
Cost: The 2016-2017 season tuition for the Jr. Rowing Program does not include required athlete uniform. This fee includes coaching fees, facility use, all travel, lodging, busing, all race-day meals, regatta entry fees, US Rowing Membership and equipment upkeep. Parents and athletes will also be encouraged to participate in fundraising programs.
Practice Attire: Athletes should come everyday prepared for land and water workouts and changing weather. Bring running shoes and layers as well as visors and sunglasses. Athletes must wear spandex with a minimum of 4” inseam. We will give all athletes 2 weeks to purchase appropriate spandex, and after that athletes will be asked to change, or leave practice. Coxswains should dress to workout, and bring layers to stay warm in the coxswain seat. Every coxswain needs to wear a watch that includes a timing function (they have them for $10 at Target).
Uniforms: Uniforms will be available for purchase online directly from the manufacturer’s website. Ordering information and pricing will be provided by your coach. Note that uniform fees are separate from tuition. Uniforms are ordered straight trough JL Racing
