Parent's Night

This past weekend, the Newport Aquatic Center opened its doors to one of the most important groups in our program: our parents. Parent Night has quickly become a cornerstone of our season kickoff, and this year’s gathering once again set the tone for everything we want to accomplish on and off the water.

The evening was intended to provide energy and clarity. Our coaches laid out not just practice plans and race schedules, but also the values and expectations that define NAC Rowing. Parents heard directly about how we are working to build a culture that goes beyond winning races, a culture rooted in discipline, resilience, and teamwork. Parent's Night

Weston highlighted the program’s overarching vision: creating an environment where athletes learn to push themselves, support each other, and carry forward lessons that last far beyond high school. The respective head coaches reinforced this message with a clear presentation on day-to-day expectations, communication channels, and the structures we’ve put in place to support athletes and families alike. We hope that parents left with a better understanding of what makes NAC Junior Rowing unique: a program that not only competes at the highest level nationally, but also invests deeply in the personal growth of every rower.

What stood out most was the enthusiasm in the room. Parents asked questions, shared feedback, and offered their support to keep building momentum. Several families mentioned how excited their athletes were to return home and share what they learned. The connection between parent, athlete, and coaches is what makes our community strong. With Parent Night behind us, we move into the season with alignment. Families know the roadmap, athletes feel supported, and coaches are eager to lead. NAC Junior Rowing has always thrived when everyone rows in the same direction, and after this gathering, it’s clear we’re off to our strongest start yet.
