The Junior Rowing fall season officially kicked off this weekend with the first Lido Chase Scrimmage against San Diego Rowing Club, marking the start of another year of racing on our home course. We had an awesome turnout of supporters around NAC and at the Parent Viewing area on top of Castaways. It was a beautiful morning, and all NAC Crews raced well! The Coaches were impressed with the depth of competitiveness from the boys’ varsity team, as three of their four eights beat San Diego’s top boat, and the 4+ won handily. Our novices got their first exposure to fall racing and appeared to have some really competitive margins between their mixed boats. The Varsity girls did well to win the 8+ and the 4+, and all boats raced well.

The Results were as follows:

MV4+: NAC 1st
WV8+: NAC 1st
MV8+: NAC 1st, 2nd, & 3rd
WV4+: NAC 1st & 2nd
Novices: Good racing in mixed boats.

Both Coach Mijo and Weston thought the morning went well for all crews and are excited to have the season underway, the full program now looks towards the end of the month where they will be traveling to Sacramento to race against most of the region at the Head of the American.

GO NAC!
