Introduction to high performance sculling. US Olympic and National Team Coach and athlete, Dave Gleeson, will be sharing his sculling expertise in this camp for younger athletes who want to raise their sculling to a higher level. Geared towards rising high school sophomores and juniors and open to both girls and boys – sculling experience is required.
Learn high-performance sculling team boat technique, safety-conscious Olympic weightlifting, rowing-specific Pilates exercises, Cognitive and Agility Training, video analysis, nutrition, and college essay prep.
Limited to 12 athletes, runs June 20 thru July 14, 8:30AM to 3:00PM

This camp is geared towards U16, U17, and U19, rising sophomores and juniors. Sculling experience is required – this is NOT a learn-to-scull camp.
Camp covers all aspects of what it takes to be a high-performance athlete:
- Advanced sculling team boat technique – primarily quad sculling
- Using the ergometer to enhance your on-water performance
- Video Analysis
- Safety-conscious, Olympic Weight-Lifting
- Rowing-specific physical assessments
- Pilates Training – posture, flexibility and core-strengthening
- Athlete Nutrition
- Cognitive Performance Training
- Agility Training
- Team Building Techniques/College Application Enhancement:
- College essay preparation
- A Capella and Improv
- Potential for College Recruiting Session
Requirements
- Previous sculling experience (Camp leader approval required)
- Please make sure your athlete can attend the full camp – days missed will severely impact our ability to take out team boats.
- Camp attendees will need to provide snacks(2), fluids and lunch
- Camp is run at NAC and at California Therapy Solutions at 17th and Irvine. Athletes should have bicycle to facilitate transfers (riders will be grouped)
Cost
$1,800 for the entire 4-week camp
Start Date is Tuesday, June 20th, and runs through July 14th.
Time: 8:30am – 3:00pm
Days: Monday – Friday
