Robbie Moralice competed at the US Sprint Kayak/Canoe Nationals in Seattle, where heavy headwinds made racing especially demanding. The regatta featured the top athletes in the country, with Hungarian Olympic champion Sándor Tótka—gold medalist in the K1 200m at Tokyo and silver medalist in the K2 1000m in Rio—competing as a guest. Robbie raced in the 1000m, 500m, and 200m events, finishing seventh in each. The combination of strong winds and world-class competition made for tough racing, but also provided Robbie with valuable experience and the chance to measure himself against the nation’s best while sharing the start line with one of the sport’s greats.

This was Robbie’s third time competing at Nationals and he’ll continue to train here at NAC! You’ll find him on the water and in the office or washdeck as our very own Staff Manager. Robbie is a fixture here at NAC having grown up paddling on our Junior Outrigger Team and we can’t wait to see how far he goes! P.S. He also offers Outrigger lessons!
