Two Saturdays ago, NAC held our 30th Annual Hal Rosoff Race just before the rain hit Southern California!
The weather was perfect for the close to 300 racers that came down for one or multiple of the three race options: Long course (11 miles), Short (3 miles), and Board course (5.5 miles).
The race is jokingly dubbed the “OC2 World Championship” by many Southern California outrigger paddlers – with 34 teams (totaling 68 paddlers!) duking it out in the long course!
Many NAC paddlers participated and placed in this unofficial championship:
- Ondrian Yeung & Justus Timmerman – 2nd – OC2 Open Men
- Olaf Pippel & Allen Reitz – 3rd – OC2 Open Men
- Jenny Ricks & Natalie Rigolet – 2nd – OC2 Masters Women
- Yuko Sako & Stacy Mason – 3rd – OC2 Masters Women
- Josette Badeaux & Chris Blank – 2nd – OC2 Mixed Golden Masters
- Dani Hamilton & Kel Schwartz – 1st – OC2 Open Women
We’d like to thank the Rosoff Family for coming down and continuing to support NAC just as Hal did. A special shout out goes to Jenny Rosoff who always gets on the water and races OC6 in the short course AND provides the beloved chili (along with Willie Rosoff & Village Greens)! Another thank you has to go to the Reichenstein’s who work all day setting up and breaking down the food and good vibes!

Thank you Kevin for coming out and taking photos!
